Things you will need for the opening ritual:
Pick an Ancestor or a Spirit (Spirit can be a guide, animal or whatever comes to you) that you want to deepen your connection with throughout this program. Be prepared to share a short story or anecdote about them.
Every one should have a blank altar set up. What this means is having an altar cloth or dedicated space set to hold their Craft Altar through the entire program. Be deliberate about it and cleanse the space and bless it in your own way. Connect it with your intention for this journey.
A white or black candle (either works, I prefer black for this solstice) I included a link for some nice altar candles from a little shop I found in Austin. https://wadevetiver.com/products/altar-candles-black-or-ivory?variant=42017048002766
Something you can use to carve into your candle I included the link to my favorite tool for this purpose: https://wadevetiver.com/products/sigil-carving-tool-for-candles
Pitcher or pourable water
Two bowls to receive the water (not too large)
Salt
Object that connects to the ancestor or spirit you will be sharing about (see below for details). This can be anything tanglable or tactile. Not an image or picture.
A book of shadows - I recommend a large book you can both write and draw in
The Ritual:
Cameras are off for this ritual until I instruct everyone to turn them on
Opening led by Asa - cleanse, create space using water in one bowl
Carve into our candle symbols
Anoint our candle with Craft Oil that was sent
Light candle and place on the Altar
Pour water into second bowl
Add salt to the water
Hold your object that connects to your spirit and scry using the bowl of water
Take 5 minutes to journal any impressions that may have come up or that come up afterwards
Cameras on - everyone gets 2 to 3 minutes to introduce themselves and to share a story about the spirit they choose
Asa shares about what to expect
Close the circle
